Just Announced: Pioneer Works Names Mara Manus Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Directors of Pioneer Works is pleased to announce that Mara Manus, former Executive Director for New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), has been appointed as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer. 

We are grateful for your engagement and support of Pioneer Works over the last year. Now through December 31st, we’re fundraising to meet our end of year goal and close out 2024.

We're pleased to announce the first major renovation of Pioneer Works! To accommodate the first phase of our construction, we're temporarily relocating to 133 Imlay Street opening in Spring 2022.

Curated by the prolific New York rapper and producer 

 brings together four independent artists across the hip-hop landscape—from South London to the Bronx—bringing in corners of rap culture to the Main Hall stage. The event is an extension of MIKE's Young World, the free to attend festival he hosts annually in Bed Stuy's Herbert Von King Park. The World Dweller lineup finds the middle ground between Dweller and Young World's respective artistic communities. 

The full lineup will be announced on Thursday, January 29 at 10 am ET. 

 is a New York-based festival for Black electronic artists across generations. After a solar revolution hiatus to regroup and bear witness to collapse, the collective has returned to contextualise an enduring range of Black thoughts, conceptions and expressions of tomorrow to Brooklyn, New York in the festival’s sixth iteration.
