Pioneer Works offers guided tours to groups of eight or more throughout the year. Guided tours include general building and organization history and a walkthrough of the space, including a brief overview of current exhibitions. Group tours can be customized upon request in the areas of science, technology, music, or art exhibitions. Your group can also request studio visits with our artists-in-residence upon availability.

Pioneer works offers a range of themed tours for K-12 groups in the areas of visual arts, technology, and music. Special requests concerning the themes or focus of the tour are welcome. School Tours are led by Pioneer Works staff, trained educators, and artists.
We offer a series of free hands-on and discussion-based workshops for students K-12 during all major exhibitions. All School Tours will resume Spring 2021.
K-12 school group tours are free of charge thanks to the generous support of The Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation.
Health and Safety PolicyBeginning on October 19, visitors age 12 and over may enter Pioneer Works without displaying proof of vaccination when they are entering to participate in a school or after-school program sponsored by their school or a City agency, so long as they wear a face mask. This includes school tours, school visits and after-school programs.School groups of students 11 years and younger may enter Pioneer Works without showing proof of vaccination.Visitors age 12 and over who are not participating in a school or after-school program sponsored by their school or a City agency must show proof of vaccination upon arrival to Pioneer Works. Per the city guidelines, we accept the NYC Covid Safe App (Android and iOS), Excelsior Pass, CDC Vaccination Card (or photo), NYC Vaccination Record, or an official immunization record from outside NYC or the US.We require school tour guests (age 2+) to wear masks. If you forget a mask, our Visitor Services team will happily provide one for free. To ensure the safety of our visitors and staff, we are operating at reduced capacity, increasing our cleaning and maintenance protocols, and placing sanitation stations at key points throughout Pioneer Works.If you feel sick or have a cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, trouble breathing, fever, chills, loss of smell, or muscle pain, or if you have been exposed to COVID-19, contact your healthcare provider, and please do not visit Pioneer Works.
