Nicole Awai is a multimedia artist. She was awarded the Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters and Sculptors Grant (2011) and an Art Matters Grant (2012). She was a featured artist in the Initial Public Offering series at The Whitney Museum of American Art (2005). Her work has been shown nationally and internationally at such venues as PS1 MOMA, Brooklyn Museum, Queens Museum, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Latin American Art, the Biennale of Ceramic in Contemporary Art in Italy, and the Busan Biennale in Korea. Her second solo exhibition opens on October 30, 2019 at Lesley Heller Gallery.
