Matt Bruinooge
Visual Arts Residency
Matt Bruinooge is a New York-based visual artist who combines 3D printing and photography to examine the relationships between physical and digital forms. Using lenticular fabrics, Bruinooge explores the shifting materiality of pixels, technosocial coding and choreography in the production and consumption of images.
Bruinooge received an MFA in Sculpture from Brooklyn College in 2025. He is the recipient of the Brown Arts Initiative grant, where he studied Computer Science and Visual Art. He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
This residency is organized in collaboration with Brooklyn College. Since 2022, Pioneer Works has partnered with Brooklyn College to select one recent graduate from their MFA program, with the aim of supporting an intergenerational cohort of emerging artists who demonstrate artistic excellence in work outside existing models and norms of their fields.
