Ana Bilankov
Visual Arts Residency
Ana Bilankov (born in Zagreb, Croatia) lives and works in Berlin and Zagreb. Her conceptual and contextual practice in the media photography, video/experimental film, and installation examines themes of poetics/politics of dislocation, migration, nomadism, no-places and construction of identity within “in-between-ness”. Her works have been shown internationally among others at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb (Croatia); Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rijeka (Croatia); Galerie Artneuland (Berlin); Galerie Weisser Elefant (Berlin); 1st Moscow Biennale, Moscow; and film festivals and screenings such as Kino Tuskanac, Zagreb; Kino Siska, Ljubljana; 29. Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival, Kassel; Kino Arsenal, Berlin; 25 FPS International Festival of Experimental Film, Zagreb. She won numerous international scholarships and artist in residencies: In 2014, she received a grant from the Berlin Senate Cultural Affairs Department for the production of the experimental video “New Town Future Film” in cooperation with Residency Unlimited, NY and was awarded a postproduction residency at the Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus Ohio, USA.
