Amedeo Pace
Music Residency

Amedeo Pace is an accomplished musician, composer, and arranger. The Italian-born vocalist/guitarist is one third of New York City alternative rock band Blonde Redhead. The band formed in 1993, and in the nearly 25 years of their career, the acclaimed trio has wandered through the noise rock of their early years, to the refined dreampop of Misery Is A Butterfly, to the sensual electronic textures of Barragán, culminating in the melancholic atmospheres of 2017’s 3 O’CLOCK EP. Throughout the variety of styles, the band has always been able to keep a personality and a unique identity that is easily recognizable.

Blonde Redhead maintains an active touring schedule, frequently performing across Europe and North America. In the fall of 2016, the band collaborated with the esteemed American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME), and together, the two innovative groups debuted the performance of Blonde Redhead’s seminal 2004 album Misery is a Butterfly in its entirety, taking to the road for select performances in Canada and the USA. These select performances of Misery Is A Butterfly with the new arrangements were a first for the group performing in a larger format with strings, and the experiences helped shape the outcome of the latest EP, 3’OCLOCK.

Outside of his work with Blonde Redhead, Amedeo has been actively involved in composing and arranging scores. In Spring 2017, Amedeo took part in Cinema 16, a program pairing experimental films with an original score written and performed live Amedeo and his twin brother Simone. Following that, the pair composed and performed their original score to Jorgen Leth’s film ‘Sunday in Hell’ for the Bicycle Film Festival.
