Calling all artists, writers, and malcontents! On Friday, May 13 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, Pioneer Works will host its second annual Zine Exchange, bringing together zine authors and aficionados to display, trade, and sell their zines.
DJ Black Helmet will serve as our Master of Ceremonies (and ensure that Stevie Wonder gets proper playtime on his birthday).
Zine Sharing and Selling
Featured tables include: Paper Jam, Math, Soft City, Endless Editions, Elvis Bakaitis, Pegacorn Press, 3 dot zine, The Bushwick Review, My Idea of Fun, Mustarrrd, Selfish, Small Editions, Suffragette City, Arno Mokros, Frenemies, #BLKGRLSWURLD & more…
Zine Exchange Game
bring a zine to play for free, or buy a $7 ticket
All participants will randomly choose a number that corresponds to a zine on display. From there, you can either keep your selection or get a sticker that will show others in the room that you want to trade. Talk, meet, debate the virtues of your zine, and see what you end up with!
Pioneer Works Risograph Series Launch
Celebrating three inaugural titles: At The National Monument / Always Today by poet Ted Dodson, Visions of Constantine by artist Christopher Kardambikis, and The Making of Gertrude Stein: Charles Ruas and Janet Hobhouse in Conversation, from Clocktower Radio’s archives.
What counts as a zine?
The rules are few but we do ask that you bring zines- as opposed to other printed ephemera. By ‘zine’ we mean something along the lines of a small circulation self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images.
