This is Not This Heat
In the mid-70s, English experimental rock band This Heat perfected a strange and volatile new strain of avant-garde rock that proved to be a massively influential blueprint for those in post-rock, math rock, homemade musique concrète, experimental electronica, and beyond.
In 2016, exactly 40 years to the day of their first gig in 1976, the two surviving members of the original band (Charles Bullen and Charles Hayward) came together with a large group of collaborators to play under the project title This is Not This Heat. Selling out a two-day residency at Londonʼs Café Oto in a matter of hours, the consensus was unanimous that all present had been witness to something of cultural significance. This is Not This Heat has been touring ever since.
Joining Charles Hayward and Charles Bullen on stage will be Daniel O’Sullivan, Frank Byng, Alex Ward, and James Sedwards.
