Summer Solstice Celebration

Join us at Strong Rope Brewery near the Brooklyn waterfront on Tuesday June 21st, for a chance to stare (safely) at the sun and cool off with free popsicles by La NewYorkina. Come for solar gazing, refreshments, food, dreaming, and potentially scheming. This event is hosted in partnership with Red Hook Staff Meetup, a networking event organized by Red Hook-based Nonprofits and schools.

Telescopes provided by the knowledgeable members of the Amateur Astronomers Association to see rare celestial sights between 3:00 and 6:00 pm.

This gathering is free and open to visitors of all ages.

Tuesday, June 21, 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Strong Rope Brewery in Red Hook at 185 Van Dyke Street (around the corner from Steve's Key Lime Pie and next to the Liberty Warehouse).

Solar gazing is subject to cancellation due to overcast conditions or inclement weather. If the solar gazing session needs to be canceled, we'll share via email by 3pm day of the event.

This project is supported by Science Sandbox, a Simons Foundation initiative dedicated to engaging everyone with the process of science.
