Summer Miccio Garden Program
What does it mean to keep a body healthy? Each summer, second, third, fourth, and fifth graders from the Red Hook East/Joseph Miccio Community Center Good Shepherd Services summer camp visit the garden at Pioneer Works once a week to participate in S.T.E.A.M.-based outdoor service learning. Summer gardeners learn the basics of urban farming, planting, watering, harvesting, and eating food grown in the half-acre space.
