Second Sundays: May 2023

Since 2013, Pioneer Works has hosted Second Sundays, our monthly open house featuring live music, food and workshops that activate our campus in partnership with artists-in-residents and community members in Red Hook.

Join us May 14th for a special Mother’s Day iteration of Second Sundays, on which we celebrate the cultivation of care in all forms within our community. The day includes a series of interactive workshops and a special performance from rock outfit Dirty Mirrors, led by exhibiting artist Aura Rosenberg.

May Second Sundays is also proud to host a group exhibition from Google’s inaugural Image Equity Fellowship, realized with Aperture, Creative Theory Agency, For Freedoms, and Free The Work. These 20 Fellows—all image-based creators of color in the US—received mentorship, workshops, and $20,000 in unrestricted funds to develop these photography-centric projects that present urgent, untold stories of their communities.
