Raga Roots, North Indian Classical

North Indian classical music presented in its pure form. This form is most often represented with one singer or instrument in interplay with the tabla. We go back to our raga roots as vocalists Samarth Nagarkar and Mitali Bhawmik, and master of sarod Anirban Das Gupta color your mind. They will be playing with the fantastic accompaniment of Suryaksha Deshpande and Dibyarka Chatterjee on tabla and Rohan Prabhudesai on harmonium! Bringing the raga back in raga massive!

Film Screening | 6pm

The concert will be preceded by a special viewing of a montage of different short documentaries and excerpts of various films which will serve to expose the audience to both the historical and contemporary contexts of North Indian Classical Music.
