About Preservation Hall Jazz Band
Since its founding in 1961, Preservation Hall Jazz Band has been dedicated to preserving New Orleans musical traditions. From its inception, founders Allan and Sandra Jaffe fostered a community of inclusion, committed to the preservation of New Orleans Jazz and to caring for elder musicians.
About Big Freedia
Known as the Queen of Bounce music, Big Freedia is New Orleans-based hip-hop artist and worldwide ambassador of bounce music. Throughout 2021, Freedia unleashed a series of sizzling bounce anthems serving as appetizers to her new six-song EP titled Big Diva Energy. On the project, Freedia emits the recurring positivity she’s known for, however there’s a noticeable strength, passion, and will that’s been emboldened and set ablaze even stronger than before throughout. The EP acts as a statement, imploring people to work hard, play harder and to pause, in order to love and to enjoy life through their own Big Diva Energy.
About Durand Jones
Durand Jones is the frontman for Durand Jones & The Indications. Durand Jones & The Indications are equally beloved for their energetic, joyous shows, dual lead singers, and thoughtful songwriting. From an Indiana basement (where the band recorded their 2016 self-titled debut LP as college students), the band has catapulted into the soul limelight and onto an international stage. Pushing beyond the boundaries of the funk and soul on their previous releases, The Indications’ third album, Private Space, unlocks the door to a wider range of sounds and launches boldly into a world of synthy modern soul and disco beats dotted with strings. Anchored by a crate-digging sensibility and the high-low harmonies of Aaron Frazer and Durand Jones, Private Space shows The Indications' mastery at melding revival sounds with a modern attitude. It's an organic, timeless record that’s as fresh as clean kicks and familiar as your favorite well-worn LP.
About Nickodemus
Nickodemus is a traveler at heart—a connecter of worlds, scenes, and people since the mid-90s. Over his extensive career as a touring DJ and producer, including three albums and canonical tunes like “Mi Swing es Tropical” and “Cleopatra in New York”, he’s helped pave the way for an inimitable mix of global fusion and the heavy beats we yearn for in the club. His music has long thrived on the close relationships and mutual respect of friends he’s built across the continents, felt through the worldly potions he cooks up in the studio, and spanning electronic sounds rooted in Latin, African, and Eastern instrumentation. His latest album, A Long Engagement, serves as a culmination of the inspirations he’s absorbed and remains rooted in his life as native New Yorker and the city’s nostalgic energy.
