múm

with support from Mr. Silla

Join us in the Main Hall for a rare live performance from exploratory Icelandic musical ensemble múm with support from Mr. Silla.

Formed in 1997, the self-described 'conveyors of sound' are renowned for their ethereal blend of electronic and acoustic elements, crafting soundscapes that invite listeners into a world of delicate melodies and intricate textures. Over the years, múm has collaborated with diverse artists, including Kylie Minogue and the Kronos Quartet, and has been celebrated for albums like Yesterday Was Dramatic – Today Is OK (1999) and Smilewound (2013).

múm (pronunciation: [muːm] - moom) are an exploratory Icelandic musical group whose music is characterized by experiments in electronic music, soft vocals, glitchy beats, innovative sampling, and eerie effects with a variety of traditional and unconventional instruments. The band was formed in 1997 by founding members Gunnar Örn Tynes, Örvar Smárason, and twin sisters Gyda and Kristín Anna Valtysdótti. Since then, the collecrtive has released six full-length albums, as well as a mountain of other music, singles, EP’s, collaborations, theatre, and film music. The band's lineup is in a state of constant change. So is their music.
