Hiro Kone, James Hoff, and Ov Stars (members of Psychic TV)

In celebration of BREYER P-ORRIDGE: We Are But One, Pioneer Works presents a series of concerts and related programs that pay tribute to the late artists’ work, featuring the artists’ friends and collaborators, alongside others who were indelibly shaped by BREYER P-ORRIDGE’s seminal practice. The series is organized in partnership with Ryan Martin of Dais Records—an independent label that released numerous records with Genesis Breyer P-Orridge during he/r lifetime.

Join us at Pioneer Works at Red Hook Labs for a performance by Hiro Kone, James Hoff, and Ov Stars, celebrating the life and legacy of Genesis Breyer P-Orridge. Tickets are on sale now.

About the artists:

Hiro Kone is a New York based musician and producer: she uses a combination of hardware, synths, and modular to cultivate her sound - a visceral meditation on rhythm, noise, and melody that has seen her release on leading experimental labels including DAIS Records and BANK Records. No stranger to manipulating macabre disorientations into enchanting new shapes, her music exposes the unsettling and sublime. Taking a deconstructive approach she is known to draw upon a combination of modular synthesis, noise and field recordings.

James Hoff lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. His work encompasses painting, sound, performance, and publishing among other media. He has performed and exhibited his artwork extensively throughout the United States and Europe over the last ten years. Hoff is also a co-founder of Primary Information, a non-profit arts organization devoted to publishing artists’ books and art historical documents.

Ov Stars is a new project featuring Alice Genese (Psychic TV, Sexpod, Pretty Boys, Candy Ass, Gut Bank) and Shaune Pony Heath Thilberg.

This program series is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
