A Trip to Infinity: Screening and Q&A with Jon Halperin, Steven Strogatz, & Janna Levin

A Trip to Infinity, a documentary with animated contributions by artists from 11 countries, explores one of the most provocative questions in all of science:  Does infinity exist or is it just something we invented? The question triggers a journey into the core of mathematics and cosmology, inspiring more questions about our place as conscious beings in the cosmos. How big is infinity? How small? How many infinities are there? Will there be an end or will time and space go on forever? What is our fate if the universe is infinite? And if finite, where and when will it all end? In an infinite universe, are there infinite living copies of you that have already watched this film? An infinite number of you loved it and are telling your friends to watch? (Of the infinite number who hated it, the less said the better.) Join an all-star cast of cosmologists, mathematicians, and physicists as they search for evidence of infinity in the real world.

Director Jon Halperin, mathematician Steven Strogatz, and author & astrophysicist Janna Levin join us for a post-film Q&A

The screening coincides with the publication of the new paperback edition of How the Universe Got Its Spots: Diary of a Finite Time in a Finite Space by Janna Levin. Following the screening, books will be available for purchase and there will be a signing with the author.
