Zine Making with Asuka Goto

Press Play is a book and music fair celebrating the merits of independent publishing and the dissemination of the arts through publication, recorded sound, and their expanded mediums on December 10. Join Visual Arts Resident Alum Asuka Goto to make one sheet zines for distribution at Press Play Fair!

Date: This in-person workshop will meet once on Saturday, December 2 from 1-3pm.

Price: $10

Audience: Open to all.

Materials: Paper and markers will be provided for those who wish to draw by hand. Participants who prefer to work digitally should bring their own laptops. Limited number of laptops will be available on request.

Asuka Goto received an MFA in Sculpture from Tyler School of Art and a BA and Post-Baccalaureate certificate from Brandeis University. She has participated in residencies at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Joan Mitchell Center, and Djerassi Resident Artists Program, among others. Goto has received the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, NYFA Artists Fellowship, Jerome Foundation Travel & Study Grant, and Joan Mitchell MFA Grant. lost in translation, her 2018 solo show at Tiger Strikes Asteroid NY, was named one of the “Top 15 Brooklyn Art Shows” of the year by Hyperallergic.
