[Sold Out] Playwriting for the Digital Space Intensive with Kara Güt
In this intensive eight-week workshop led by Tech Resident Alum Kara Güt, participants will learn the history of video game art and cinema, referred to as machinima, as well as the basics of scene construction, and will create skits using pre recorded video game footage and live participation. Participants will create scenes to be presented at a TBD date with the support of actors.
Date: This eight-week online workshop meets on Tuesdays from February 6- March 26 from 7-9pm ET via Zoom.

Kara Güt is an Ohio-based artist whose primary focus is image-based, digital media. Her work investigates the shape of human intimacy formed by internet lifestyle, constructed detachment from reality, and the power dynamics of the virtual. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally, most recently at Hybrid Box, Hellerau European Centre for the Arts, Dresden; Thomas Erben, New York; and Singapore Art Museum, among others. She received an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and is an alumni of Pioneer Works Tech Residency, the SPACES artist residency, and the Banff Visual + Digital Art residency. She is a 2023 Knight Art + Tech fellow.
