Pioneer Works’ Red Hook Regatta is an event that highlights Red Hook’s rich history as a shipping harbor through the use of cutting-edge technology. The event is a collaboration between Pioneer Works and Red Hook Initiative’s Digital Stewards program. The Digital Stewards spend time learning how to use 3D modeling software, how to operate 3D printers, and also learn the basics of electronic circuitry to make the boats remote-controlled. The event also welcomes members of the public to participate by equipping them with a kit to make their own remote-control boats.
