Kate Ovaska (b. 1984 Gaithersburg, MD) is a visual artist and photographer living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Her photographs and light installations consider family structures and intimate relationships. She received her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and her MFA from Columbia University and was a Fulbright Scholar to Germany.

As an artist in residence at Pioneer Works, Kate Ovaska will continue a series of large format photographs inspired by the visual phenomena of phosphenes.
