Elizabeth Orr
Visual Arts Residency

Elizabeth Orr is an interdisciplinary artist from Venice Beach, CA, living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Her work combines video installation, performance, and text. Her subject matter evolves from an interrogation into methodologies of thought and representation, oriented towards an understanding of the history of philosophy through a queer feminist perspective. She received her B.A. from Hampshire College in 2006 and will complete her M.F.A. at Bard College in 2015. At Pioneer Works, she researched the ways in which choreographed movement constructs narrative, using the tracking shot to explore how representation operates in video, film and performance. Orr created and presented her own circular track and dolly system, Circular Track.
