Summer Miccio Garden Program 2017

What does it mean to keep a body healthy? Each summer, second, third and fourth and fifth graders from the Red Hook East/Joseph Miccio Community Center Good Shepherd Services summer camp visit the garden at Pioneer Works once a week, to participate in S.T.E.A.M. – based outdoor service learning. Summer gardeners learn the basics of urban farming, planting, watering, harvesting and eating food grown in the ½ acre space.
