“Alternative Facts” are everywhere. Join us in responding to this term. Fact Craft is a collaborative, cross-disciplinary program series that examines the ways “facts” are constructed, crafted, presented and disseminated.
Each program invites a guest to facilitate a group action that intervenes in, questions, or subverts systems of ‘fact craft’ across disciplines. These actions address oppressive cultural systems—of commerce, representation, communication, and information—by generating alternatives and jamming existing ones.
Fact Craft kicks off during Pioneer Works’ June Second Sunday program, and will be followed by 11 workshops and 2 panel dialogues. As a part of Fact Craft, Pioneer Books will host Study Hall hours on Sundays from 1:00-5:00pm. During Study Hall, interested participants can informally meet and collaborate on their own actions and will have access to related resources. The series will culminate on November 18, 2017 with a celebratory public event that includes presentations of participant projects.
