Learn about collaboration as a process for working and making with others. Through discussions with guests from a variety of fields, including visual art, theater, and technology, the class will explore various forms and approaches to collaboration within and between disciplines. Group discussion and exercises will lead each student to develop a sense of how to approach choosing and working with the right collaborators for their own work. Guests will include Pioneer Works artists in residents Angel Nevarez and Valerie Tevere, spring tech residents Aether VR, and other guests.

Sheetal Prajapati is a creative practitioner working across the field of art and public engagement as an artist, educator, and administrator. From 2010-2016, she worked in the education department of The Museum of Modern Art, serving as the Assistant Director, Learning and Artists Initiatives (2014-2016). Prior to that she worked at the Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art at Northwestern University and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Sheetal has held residencies at Arquetopia Foundation (Mexico, 2016), Elsewhere Museum (North Carolina, 2016), the The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts (New York, 2015/6), and the Srishti School of Art, Design, and Technology (India, 2014). Her work has been presented at EFA Project Space (NYC), Elsewhere Museum (Greensboro, NC), Denny Gallery (NYC), and The Galleries at Moore (Philadelphia). She co-curates GAME NIGHT and is the Director of Public Engagement at Pioneer Works.
